
Lancers spoil Mazzoleni's debut

(Green Bay, WI) â Omaha forward Trevor Smith tallied four goals to lead the Lancers to a 6-1 win over the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday night at the Resch Center in front of 2nd largest crowd (6,033) in team history.
The Lancers scored four of their goals with the man advantage, finishing the night 4-for-6 on the power play. Along with Smith's four tallies, the Lancers also got a four-point effort from Brock Bradford (1g 3a) and a three-point night from Corey Carlson (1g 2a)
Early in the 2nd period the Gamblers made it a 2-1 hockey game on a power play goal from Mark Stockdale, whose wrist-shot from the near circle found the top corner.
Less than three minutes after the Stockdale goal, forward Mitch Kerns would be assessed a five-minute major for running the goaltender. The Lancers capitalized on the five-minute power play to regain the two-goal lead.
Starter Michael Zacharias made 24 saves in the loss.
The Gamblers will have next week off before heading to Des Moines, to play the Buccaneers on October 8 .
