Omaha Lancers News Release
OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers concluded its season series with the Fargo Force Friday night (2/23) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. The Lancers and Force faced-off with one another in their two prior meetings in Fargo last week where the Lancers took the league's top team to the brink in both affairs.
The Lancers and Force would both play sharp in the early going.
Fargo would break the ice first as forward Reid Daavettila would wrist one from the slot off a Lancer turnover to make it 1-0 Fargo early.
However, the Lancers would hold firm through the rest of the frame before going on a late offensive surge of their own toward the ladder half of the period.
The score would stand at 1-0 Fargo thanks to Force net-minder Hampton Slukynsky.
The second period would have much of the same as the first with both teams playing physical throughout.
The Fargo Force would eventually get back on the board again, this time off the stick of Brandon Svoboda who would send an odd angle shot on Mikhail Yegorov as the Force would stretch its lead heading to the locker room up two.
The third period would commence with Fargo putting a thresh-hold on the game.
Early in the period Lee Parks would put one top-shelf past Yegorov to give Fargo a 3-0 advantage.
Later in the period, a bad Lancer turnover to Fargo player Mac Swanson would allow Swanson to deke past Yegorov to help cap off a 4-0 Fargo win.
The Lancers are back in action tomorrow night (2/24) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena to take on the Tri-City Storm. Puck drop is at 6:05 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
