The Omaha Lancers have acquired forward Ross Mitton in a trade with the Lincoln Stars this morning (Friday). In the deal, the Lancers sent forward Blais Richartz.
Mitton, a Copiange, NY native, has played in 92 USHL games over the past 3 seasons. During his first year in the USHL, Mitton was apart of the 2017-18 Clark Cup Championship with the Fargo Force. Last year, Ross split the season playing 34 games with the Force and then 24 with the Lincoln Stars. This year Ross has played in 6 games and has recorded 2 assists. In his USHL career, the 5'11", 183-pound center has combined for 27 points. Mitton is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Northeastern University.
"He [Mitton] is a hard and physical USHL player with speed and skill that will add an element to our team that we did not have enough of at this point," Head Coach and General Manager David Wilkie said. "We are ecstatic that we can now put him in a Lancer uniform."
Mitton will be playing tonight in Dubuque with the Lancers and will be wearing #5.
