Paul Stastny notched two assists for the Colorado Avalanche in Wednesday night's 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. The points for Stastny helped continue his current point streak to 17 straight games. That ties an NHL rookie record set in 1993 by Winnipeg's Teemu Selanne. In the past 17 games, Stastny has scored eight goals and has added 25 assists. He also set the franchise rookie scoring streak record, set by his father, Peter, who was playing for the Quebec Nordiques in 1980. Paul has a chance to break the league record on Sunday, when the Avalanche meets the Minnesota Wild.

Ted Cook was one of three Niagara Purple Eagles named to the All-CHA first team recently announced. The sophomore forward from Hogansburg, New York currently leads all Division One hockey players in goals scored with 32. Add in his 16 assists for a total of 48 points for the season, Cook is averaging 1.33 points per game. Among his 32 goals scored are 21 power play goals and five game-winning goals.

Ryan Thang is one of three Notre Dame hockey players named to the CCHA all-rookie team. It's the first time Notre Dame has placed three players on the league all-rookie squad. Thang led the Fighting Irish in goals scored with 17 and finished with 34 points. The Edina, Minnesota native paced the Irish in power play goals with eight and was third in the CCHA in game-winning goals with five. In 28 conference games, Thang scored 11 goals and finished with 26 points.

Niagara's Chris Moran has been named CHA Conference Rookie of the Year. The Buffalo, New York native averaged more than a point a game in league play this season for the Purple Eagles in his first collegiate season. Moran was tied for fourth in league assists and power play assists while ranking first in assists and points as a rookie. He enters this weekend's conference tournament tied for seventh nationally in assists at 31 for 36 games.

Brock Bradford scored two goals, Nate Gerbe added three assists, and Brett Motherwell added another helper, as Boston College defeated Northeastern 3-0 in game one of their quarterfinal series in the Hockey East Conference tournament Thursday night.
