Hill City Howlers News Release
The Cincinnati Reds have announced the promotion of outfielder Ryan LaMarre and pitcher Doug Salinas from Low-A Dayton to Advanced-A Lynchburg. Shortstop Miguel Rojas and pitcher Abe Woody were promoted to Double-A Carolina.
LaMarre was hitting .282 with five home runs and 29 RBI in 60 games with Dayton. He stole 18 bases for the Dragons. He was the Reds' Second Round Draft Pick in the 2010 MLB Draft out of the University of Michigan.
With the Wolverines, LaMarre was a two-time All-Big Ten outfielder. In 2009, he earned second team honors after leading the team with a .344 batting average, 62 RBI, 55 runs scored, 33 walks and a .599 slugging percentage. His 12 home runs were second on the team.
2010 brought more success for LaMarre. He hit .419, which was sixth all-time in Michigan's single season list. He led the team in batting average, slugging percentage (.649) and on-base percentage (.453). The success earned him ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region second team and All-Big Ten first team. LaMarre hit five home runs and drove in 40 during his junior season.
Lynchburg also receives Doug Salinas from Dayton. Salinas was 3-3 with a 2.38 ERA and seven saves in 23 games for the Dragons. He was placed in the disabled list June 4 with right shoulder inflammation. He returned to action with the Arizona League Reds from July 19-27 before rejoining the Dragons July 31.
