Lakeland Magic to Host Open Tryouts

Lakeland, FL - The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will be hosting a local player tryout on September 26, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse (210 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33880). Local player tryouts provide athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of Lakeland Magic coaches and basketball staff.
Former local player tryout success stories include Kevin Foster, a Polk County native and 2017 local tryout participant who made the team and played for the Lakeland Magic in the 2017-18 season. The following year, Jerimiah Hill earned his spot on the roster through an open tryout and averaged seven points, 2.5 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game in the 2018-19 season.
All tryout participants must pre-register at LakelandMagic.com/local-player-tryout and pay the $250 non-refundable tryout fee. The NBA G League requires that all tryout participants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The open tryout will be limited to the first 65 people who complete the required registration forms, submit proof of vaccination, and pay the tryout fee. No walkups will be accepted on the day of the tryout. The registration deadline for the tryout is Friday, September 17, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
