Lafleur to Highlight Molson Canadian Opening Weekend

St. John's, NL -The St. John's IceCaps announced today that Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur will be the club's special guest at their home opener Friday, October 28th at Mile One Centre.

A five-time Stanley Cup champion as a member of the Montreal Canadiens, Lafleur was the first player in the National Hockey League to score 50 goals and 100 points in six straight seasons. Nicknamed, "The Flower", Lafleur was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. Lafleur will take part in a special opening ceremony prior to the IceCaps game versus the Rochester Americans as part of Molson Canadian Opening Weekend festivities.

Additionally, the IceCaps announced all ticket holders to Saturday night's game (October 29th, also against Rochester) will receive free admission to George Street Mardi Gras (a $20.00 value) that evening.
