April 16, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) remained unbeaten in the 2023 regular season with a 3-2 win over the Galaxy Sunday afternoon at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson. It was the first-ever win for LAFC on the road against the Galaxy and improves the Black & Gold to 5-0-2 (17 points).
Carlos Vela led the way for LAFC, scoring two goals and registering an assist on Ryan Hollingshead's game-winning goal in the 70th minute. Vela now has scored 12 career goals vs. the Galaxy in 12 appearances. Vela started the scoring for LAFC in the 22nd minute, firing a left-footed shot into the Galaxy net, but the Galaxy would tie the game in the 41st minute on a Tyler Boyd goal. Vela gave LAFC the lead on a penalty kick in the 68th minute, and then his corner kick was headed in by Hollingshead two minutes later for all the goals the Black & Gold would need.
LAFC return to action in MLS play on Saturday, April 22 when they travel to Nashville. Kickoff at 5:30 p.m. PST. (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV/710 AM/980 AM).
