Lafauci to Speak at Avitae ArenaBowl XXV Prayer Breakfast

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans VooDoo will be hosting a special AVITAE ArenaBowl XXV prayer breakfast Wednesday, August 8 from 7:00-8:30 a.m. CT. The featured speaker for the event will be former LSU Tigers star Tyler Lafauci.

Lafauci started at both defensive tackle and offensive guard for LSU from 1971 to 1973. He collected many accolades throughout his college career, including All-SEC, All-American, and Academic All-American honors. He was also LSU's Permanent Team Captain and the team's most valuable player in 1973.

Although the Houston Oilers drafted him in 1974, Lafauci chose to pursue a career in physical therapy. He graduated from LSU Medical Center School in 1976. He is currently the Director of Sports Medicine Program at Baton Rouge Physical Therapy. He also assists local high school football teams with his expertise of injury treatment.

Lafauci has been inducted into LSU's Sports Hall of Fame, the New Orleans Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame, and De La Salle High School's Hall of Fame. He has also been named to LSU's All-Century Team and was named the #1 offensive guard in the history of New Orleans High School Football.
