
LA Galaxy Sign Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond to Contract Extension

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has signed goalkeeper Jonathan Bond to a two-year contract extension through the end of the 2024 season with a club option for 2025.
"Jonathan has been a steady influence in the team for the past two seasons," said LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney. "We are pleased to reach an agreement to extend his contract."
In two seasons across all competitions with the Galaxy, Bond has tallied 12 shutouts in 67 appearances (67 starts). During the 2022 campaign, Bond was one of six goalkeepers in MLS to appear in all 34 regular-season matches and logged 91 saves and seven shutouts. Notably, Bond ranks fourth all-time in club history in regular-season saves (211) and regular-season games played in goal (65). Additionally, Bond ranks fifth all-time amongst all goalkeeper in regular-season wins (26) with the Galaxy.
In his first season in LA in 2021, the Hemel Hempstead, England, native recorded 121 saves and four shutouts in 31 regular-season appearances (31 starts).
Prior to signing with the Galaxy, Bond played for West Bromwich Albion, Peterborough United, Gillingham F.C., Reading and Watford. While at Watford, he gained experience while on loan at Brackley Town, Forest Green Rovers, Dagenham & Redbridge and Bury FC.
