
LA Galaxy Forward Dejan Joveljić Named to Serbian National Team Roster for International Friendly against U.S.

LOS ANGELES - LA Galaxy forward Dejan Joveljić has been called in by the Serbian National Team for an international friendly against the United States Men's National Team at Banc of California Stadium on Wednesday, Jan 25 (7:00 p.m. PT; HBO Max). Joveljić will join the Serbian National Team for training camp on Sunday, Jan. 22 and will return to the Galaxy on Friday, Jan. 27.
The Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, native has tallied 16 goals and five assists in 50 matches played (17 starts) across all competitions in two seasons with the Galaxy (2021-Present). Last season, Joveljić tallied 14 goals and three assists in 36 games played (10 starts) across all competitions. Notably, Joveljić set the single-season LA Galaxy record for goals scored by a substitute across all competitions (11), and led all MLS players in goals scored as a substitute (9) during the 2022 campaign.
Joveljić, 23, has made two appearances for Serbia since starting and playing 90 minutes in his debut in a 1-1 draw against Jamaica on June 7, 2021. Joveljić most recently started and logged 90 minutes for Serbia in a 1-0 loss to Japan on July 11, 2021. The forward has made multiple appearances for Serbia at the youth level across various age groups, notably tallying a hat-trick against Estonia in UEFA European U-21 Championship Qualifying on Nov. 15, 2019.
