
LA Galaxy Defender James Riley Undergoes Successful Meniscus Repair

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, March 27, 2014) - The LA Galaxy announced today that defender James Riley has undergone a successful left lateral meniscus repair. The surgery was performed by Dr. Bert Mandelbaum at Surgery Center of Pacific in Santa Monica, Calif. Riley will begin the recovery process immediately and is expected to miss at least six months.
Riley, a 10-year MLS veteran, signed with the Galaxy prior to the start of the 2014 MLS season. Riley suffered the injury in the 32nd minute of the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium last Saturday afternoon.
