
Krystof Hrabik to Represent Czech Republic at 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship

Americans forward Krystof Hrabik will compete for Czech Republic at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
The 6'4", 209-pound center was selected by the Americans in the first-round (41st overall) of the 2018 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. He completed the first-half of his rookie season in Tri-City with 24 points (8G-16A) in 29 games. On December 8, his last game with the Americans before departing for the World Junior Championship, Hrabik put up five assists in a home victory over Lethbridge.
The 19-year-old was named to NHL Central Scouting's November 'Players to Watch' list for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He received a 'C' ranking, which indicates a potential fourth, fifth, or sixth round candidate.
This is Hrabik's second time on the World Junior Championship roster for his home country. He rejoins the Czech Republic after finishing fourth at the 2018 tournament in Buffalo, N.Y., the country's best performance in thirteen years.
This year's tournament will be held in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C. today through January 5. Hrabik and the Czech Republic will compete against Switzerland in the tournament's first game at 1 p.m. PST.
