
Kory Nagy Added to Solar Bears Roster

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Kory Nagy and signed forward Shane Bakker to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO).
Nagy (5-10, 194 lbs.) was drafted in the fifth round, #142 overall, by the New Jersey Devils in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He played 63 games for the Trenton Titans last season, scoring 10 goals and adding 20 assists along with 34 PIM. He also appeared in one game with the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL (American Hockey League). Nagy played the entire 2011-12 season with the Albany Devils (AHL), where he had four goals and four assists in 53 games. Nagy divided the 2010-11 season between the Trenton Devils (ECHL) and Albany Devils, earning 22 points (9 goals, 13 assists) in 57 games with Trenton and one assist in 13 games with Albany. In his first pro season, in 2009-10, he scored four goals and added nine assists for 13 points with Trenton and had six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 31 games for Albany. In his ECHL career, Nagy has collected 23 goals and 42 assists for 65 points in 153 games while his AHL career totals 15 points on six goals and nine assists.
Prior to turning pro, the London, ON, native played four seasons (2005-09) in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League), all for the Oshawa Generals. His best offensive season came in 2008-09, when he notched 55 points on 17 goals and 38 assists in 57 games. Nagy played a total of 200 games in the OHL, scoring 22 goals and adding 56 assists for 78 points.
Bakker (6-3, 201 lbs.) has played the last five seasons (2008-13) for Carleton University in the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport). Last season, he served as an Alternate Captain while tallying 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) and 70 PIM in 26 games. He had a career high 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) and 86 PIM in 2011-12, and in 117 games for Carleton University he has collected 17 goals and 30 assists for 47 points along with 390 PIM.
Forwards Micheal Neal and CJ Severyn will attend training camp in the AHL. Neal will take part in camp with the Toronto Marlies and Severyn will skate in training camp with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.
