
Komets take three straight on the road

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets took all 3 games on the road for the week and completed week 16 of the 2006-07 season riding a 5-game winning streak. Fort Wayne improves to 28-13-2 for 58 points after 43 games and continues to lead the Western Conference of the United Hockey League.
The week started with a 4-3 win at Bloomington Wednesday. Friday the Komets shutout the Hounds at Chicago 3-0. Komet netminder Kevin St. Pierre registered his 34th career shutout and extended the UHL record for shutouts to 25 and the Fort Wayne franchise record for shutouts by a goalie to 22. Saturday the Komets finished the week upsetting the Fury at Muskegon 5-3 with a 5-goal comeback for the win.
This week the Komets skate 2 games. Friday the K's are at Chicago again to face the Hounds at 8:30pm. Saturday the Komets return home after a 2-week road tour to host the Kalamazoo Wings at the Memorial Coliseum at 7:30pm.

Comcast Report Card Night Saturday.....students can get a free ticket to this Saturday night's Komet home game against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm with their report card "A" or "A" equivalent as part of Comcast Report Card Night at Komet Hockey. Students should take their report cards (or copy of report card) or a letter from their teacher or school to the Coliseum Ticket Office. Proof of an "A" on their report card will get students a free ticket to Saturday night's game. Also, Comcast will make a donation to the Literacy Alliance for every "A" student at the game.
Leaders.....center J.C. Ruid continues to lead the Komets with 27 goals, 13 power play goals and 54 points (4th overall in points in the UHL).....Guy Dupuis (D) leads with 35 assists and leads all UHL scorers with 25 power play assists.....David Hukalo (RW) tops the team with +12.....Kevin St. Pierre leads UHL goaltenders with 4 shutouts and 2247:23 minutes....Martin Gascon (C) leads UHL rookies with 4 game winning goals.....Mario Larocque leads UHL defensemen with 10 power play goals.
Komet streaks.....5-game winning streak and 3-game road winning streak....J.C. Ruid (C) 5-game point streak (5g, 6a) and 3-game goal scoring streak (3g).....Guy Dupuis (D) 5-game point streak (1g, 9a) and 5-game assist streak (9a).....Pascal Morency (RW) 3-game point streak (3g, 1a).....David Hukalo (RW) 3-game point streak (1g, 3a) and 3-game assist streak (3a).....Kevin St. Pierre (G) 5 straight starts, 5 straight wins and unbeaten in regulation 7 straight games.
Special K's.....the Komet's power play continues to lead the UHL after scoring 4 goals on 17 chances for the week for an overall total of 66 power play goals on 302 chances for a league-best conversion rate of 21.9%.

Player of the Week: Pascal Morency (RW), 3gp, points in each game played for a 3-game point streak, 3g (fg, gw), 1a, 4pts, +6.
Goaltender of the Week: Kevin St. Pierre, 3gp, 180 minutes, 6ga, 2.00 gaa, 86/92, .935 spct., 1 shutout. Leads UHL goalies in shutouts with 4 this season.
