Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced Thursday that skaters Luciano Aquino and Mathieu Curadeau have been added to the preseason roster.

Aquino (uh-KEEN-oh), 22, has been assigned to Fort Wayne by the New York Islanders of the NHL and will be entering his 3rd pro year since he was selected by the Islanders in the 7th round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. The winger attended the University of Main from 2003-04 and then skated 2 seasons with Brampton of the Ontario Hockey League posting 53 goals and 143 points in 97 games.

Aquino began his pro career in 2005-06 appearing in 9 games with Bridgeport Sound AHL and 3 ECHL games with Trenton. Last season the Mississauga, Ontario native appeared in 13 games at Bridgeport Sound (2g, 1a). He also skated ECHL stints in Pensalcola and Utah registering 8 goals and 29 points in 33 games.

Curadeau (KERR-uh-doe), 22, will be entering his first full year of pro play. The Montreal, Quebec native spent 4 seasons in juniors (QMJHL) skating with Val-d'Or 2002-05 and Acadie-Bathhurst and Gatineau during 2005-06. Last year Curadeau appeared in 11 games with the University of Ottawa CIS (3g, 8a) and was a member of the Quebec LNAH team for 4 games.

The Komet's preseason roster of 24 players includes 15 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goaltenders. The roster and the career stats of Aquino and Curadeau can be viewed on the next page of this release.

Komet Camp 2007 will kick off with a noon media luncheon at the Coliseum Monday, Oct. 8.

The Komet's 2007-08 IHL campaign begins at home Saturday, Oct. 20 against the Port Huron IceHawks at 7:30pm. The Komets will host 2 preseason tilts including Wednesday, Oct. 10 against the Bloomington PrairieThunder at 7:30pm and Saturday, Oct. 13 against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm.
