Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets will break for the Christmas holiday this week after Tuesday morning's practice and then return to action on the road in Michigan this weekend starting a stretch of six games in eight nights. Saturday the Komets head to Muskegon (18-5-0-3) and face the league-leading Lumberjacks at 7pm at Walker Arena. Muskegon is riding a three-game win streak and will skate at Quad City Tuesday night before taking some time off for Christmas. It's the fourth of 11 meetings this season. The Komets trail Muskegon in the season series 1-3-0-0.

Sunday the Komets travel to Flint for a 4pm matinee. The Komets are unbeaten this season in three previous meetings and won their last visit to Flint Nov. 6, 4-3 in a shootout. The Generals (8-16-1-2) are 2-4-1-0 in their last seven games after posting a 6-5 overtime home win against Quad City Sunday. Flint will host Port Huron Tuesday and Dayton Saturday before facing the Komets Sunday.

About next week

Tuesday, Dec. 29 the Komets will host the only Tuesday home game this season when the Dayton Gems visit for a 7:30pm faceoff. Wednesday the Komets will skate a rematch at Dayton at 7pm. Thursday the Komets will ring in the new year with the 53rd Fort Wayne New Year's Eve game at 7:30pm. The Komets will take New Year's Day off and then skate at Flint Saturday, Jan. 2 at 7:30pm. All games are scheduled to air on Fort Wayne radio. Games on Dec. 29th and 30th are slated for ESPN 1380. New Year's Eve and Jan. 2 games are scheduled to air on WOWO 1190. About last week

The Komets improved to 14-9-0-1 after taking two of three games played for the week. Friday the Komets defeated the visiting Quad City Mallards 3-2 in overtime to remain unbeaten in four overtime games this year. Saturday the Komets snapped a three-game road losing string with a 3-1 victory at Quad City. Sunday the Komets were clipped in Bloomington 6-5 after rebounding from a 6-2 deficit to finish the week in a tie with the PrairieThunder for third place with 29 points.

Komet streaks : Colin Chaulk (C) has a three-game point streak (2 goals, 4 assists) and Frankie DeAngelis (D) passed an assist in each game last week for a three-game assist streak (4 assists).

It's a new Komet defenseman record .....Guy Dupuis scored his 106th Komet goal Sunday in Bloomington to set a new record of regular season career goals scored by a Fort Wayne defenseman. The previous record of 105 was set by Jim Burton over a span of eight seasons from 1981-82 to 1988-89. Dupuis now has a total of 115 all-time points as a Komet defenseman, one point shy of Burton's record of 116 points for Fort Wayne regular season and playoff games combined. Dupuis is in his 13th Fort Wayne season and has appeared in a franchise record 904 Komet games (regular season and playoffs).

Warner hits 100 : Fort Wayne native Brandon Warner (D), playing his second season with the Komets, skated his 100th Fort Wayne career game Saturday at Quad City.
