
Knoxville Ice Bears Mascot Suffers Fall During Game

Knoxville, TN ( Nov 24, 2014) - The Knoxville Ice Bears mascot, Chilly suffered a fall down a set of stairs during Friday night's game.
During the third period of Friday's action, Chilly was performing on the stairs between sections "M" and "N" when he fell down a set of stairs. The actor who performs as Chilly was taken away in an ambulance to University of Tennessee Medical Center. The details of how he came to fall are still being investigated.
After several tests, the performer was diagnosed with spinal bruising and a concussion. He will be out of action temporarily.
As news of the incident traveled, an outpouring of support from all over North America came in wishing the mascot a speedy recovery.
The performer is expected to make a full recovery and will be back in his costume but there is no time table on his return.
Knoxville Ice Bears host the Fayetteville FireAntz on Friday, November 28th for Wiener Dog Races. Specialty Wiener Dog Jerseys will be auctioned off immediately following the game. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.knoxvilleicebears.com or call (865) 525-7825.
