Key Transactions
Los Angeles brought in a few new players into the team this season after a successful first year in MLS. Diego Palacios was acquired from SD Aucas. Top clubs like FC Barcelona were interested in the young left back from Ecuador. Center back Danilo Silva joined on loan from Brazilian club Internacional and winger Brian RodrÃguez was acquired from Peñarol. Additionally, Eddi Segura returned after his loan ended at Atlético Huila.
Who's Hot?
Carlos Vela has scored 27 goals and 10 assists in 26 appearances, which leads MLS at this point in the season. His impact can't go unnoticed as he has had a hand in half of all LAFC goals. Vela missed the last match against Minnesota United because of a hamstring injury and could miss the match on Saturday at Exploria Stadium.
Team Form
Los Angeles has struggled in their last two matches. The team lost their first home match of the season against Minnesota this past weekend, and drew their second meeting of the season with the LA Galaxy prior to that. However, outside of this, LAFC has had few hiccups. Th California side leads the Western Conference with 62 points while the Seattle Sounders are 16 points behind in second place. LAFC have only lost four league games all year.
Head-to-head
City and Los Angeles have met only once back on July 8th, 2018. City lost that match in LA 4-1.
Rasmussen College Fun Fact
Saturday's match will be the first LAFC visit to Exploria Stadium.
