Knights Sweep Sweets with Speed

Walla Walla, Wa- The Corvallis Knights took game three against the Sweets 10-4. It completed the three game sweep for the Knights (28-20) and it handed the Sweets (21-26) their fifth straight loss.

For the second straight night, the game got out of hand early for the Sweets as Corvallis cruised into the fifth with a 6-0 lead. Walla Walla then countered with two runs in the fifth.

Myles Hager led off the frame with a walk and Dyllin Mucha doubled to put runners at second and third with no outs. Juan Gamez then knocked Hager in with a sacrifice fly and Mucha scored on a wild-pitch to make the score 6-2 Knights.

The Sweets added a couple more runs on RBI by Hager and Parker Coss, but a three-run eighth inning for the Knights swept the Sweets away.

The Sweets were hurt by seven errors on the defensive side. They committed 12 errors combined in the final two games of the series and allowed 16 stolen bases as well after five more in game three by the Knights.

The Sweets will look to turn things around in Wenatchee as they head north for three games. First pitch tomorrow is slated for 7:05pm.
