FORT MILL, S.C. - May 10, 2008 - The Charlotte Knights split their doubleheader with the Toledo Mud Hens with a 4-1 win in game one and a 5-3 loss in game two. The Knights continue to get strong play out of starting pitcher Lance Broadway and first baseman Brad Eldred.

Broadway got the win for the Knights in game one as he pitched a 7 inning complete game and improved to 5-1 on the season. Broadway also lowered his ERA to 1.13 which is the second best in the IL. The top pitching prospect's only blemish of the evening was a first inning solo home run to Toledo slugger Mike Hessman.

For Hessman his night was just beginning. The Mud Hens third baseman would end up hitting another home run in the second game, giving him four homers over the last two days.

The Knights got another great showing from first baseman Brad Eldred who hit a pair of solo home runs on the night. Eldred now has 33 RBI's on the season, good for the most in the IL.

It also was Pink Knights at Knights Stadium, as the Knights did there part to strikeout breast cancer. The Knights and their fans raised $12,112 dollars for Charlotte Radiology via a silent auction of the autographed pink jerseys worn by the Knights players and coaches.

The Knights and Mud Hens continue their series tomorrow at 2:15 PM. LHP Wes Whisler (5-1, 1.77 ERA) will start for Charlotte, RHP Yorman Bazardo (1-1, 5.14 ERA) goes for Toledo.
