
Knights Special Teams Sink Spits

(LONDON) Greg McKegg had a goal and two assists and five different Knights scored, as London topped Windsor, 5-2, on Friday night at the John Labatt Centre.
Ryan Rupert, Seth Griffith, Max Domi and Jared Knight had the other goals for London (36-10-0-1).
Alexander Khokhlachev (20) and Jordan Maletta (3) replied for Windsor.
Khokhlachev's goal opened the scoring on a Windsor power play just 33 seconds in. The Spits took that 1-0 lead to the room after 20 minutes.
After Ryan Rupert tied the game at 6:48 of the second period,Maletta restored the lead at 9:59 by banking a puck off a Knights defenceman and past Michael Houser from behind the net.
A few minutes later, the Spits had a golden chance to take a 3-1 lead with a lengthy, 5-on-3 advantage. Despite great pressure, they failed to score, instead giving up a shorthanded goal to Griffith with just five seconds left in the second penalty.
McKegg made it 3-2 on the power play at 18:11.
Domi's goal at 17:35 of the third period was the dagger, putting the Knights up 4-2.
Knight rounded out the scoring with an empty-net goal at 18:58.
