Charlotte Knights News Release
FORT MILL, S.C. - April 12, 2009 - The Knights kept things interesting but ultimately lost 4-3 to the visiting Gwinnett Braves. The Easter Sunday crowd of 2,643 saw the Knights pick up some runs late in the game and some great pitching by the Braves.
Charlotte starter Lance Broadway (0-1, 5.40 ERA) pitched five innings allowing all four Braves runs. For Broadway it was his first time going more than three innings since last season. He spent spring training trying to make the major league roster as a reliever.

The Knights Ben Broussard got his first two hits of the season including an RBI single. The Knights also had an RBI knock from Jerry Owens.
Braves starter Charlie Morton was down from Atlanta on a rehab assignment. Morton had 12 strikeouts in the game. Morton allowed just one hit and one run in the game. The Knights struck out 14 times during the game. It was the second game of the young season in which the Knights have had 14 strikeouts.
