London Knights News Release
Over the course of the season, partnered with the London Knights Alumni Foundation, Ascend Fundraising, and local London McDonald's, the London Knights and their fans raised $267,167.50 for local organizations through the new electronic 50/50 program.
"We are very grateful for our fans and all of their contributions to local charities through this program, said London Knights' Vice President and General Manager, Mark Hunter. "Knowing that we have raised tens of thousands of dollars more than previous seasons has allowed us to donate to more charities, with higher amounts, reaching a larger number of people here in London. We look forward to seeing the impact that these dollars have throughout our community in each respective program."
The new electronic 50/50 program began at the start of the season and has resulted in a 169% increase in community donations over last season. The team saw the largest jackpot on February 15, 2019 in a game against the Erie Otters, where the total pot reached $41,110, with the winner taking home $20,555.
Over 30 organizations have received funds from the 50/50 program this season. Some charities include Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children's Health Foundation, Special Olympics Canada Foundation, and many more.
