Knights Promote Kerkvliet to Assistant GM

The Knights are pleased to announce the promotion of veteran staffer Bre Kerkvliet to assistant general manager and the hiring of former Corvallis Gazette-Times sports reporter Brooks Hatch as their new director of public relations.

A native of Corvallis who has worked with the Knights since their move to Corvallis for the 2007 season, Kerkvliet, 25, is the first female, and the youngest, assistant GM in the West Coast League. She will also retain her current responsibilities as director of business development.

Kerkvliet is a graduate of Corvallis High School and Oregon State University.

Hatch worked at the Gazette-Times from 1984 through Jan., 2011, and covered the Knights for the paper since their move to Corvallis. He also wrote for the Minot Daily News and the Bismarck Tribune in North Dakota before moving to Corvallis to work for the Gazette-Times.

He is a native of East Aurora, N.Y., and a graduate of East Aurora High School and the University of Richmond.
