Knights Opening Day Postponed Due to Inclement Weather

(Fort Mill, SC) - The Charlotte Knights opening game of the 2012 season set for 7:15 p.m. against the Norfolk Tides on Thursday was postponed due to inclement weather.
Thursday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 7. First pitch of Saturday 's game will be at 5:15 p.m. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and the Knights and Tides will play two seven-inning games. Saturday's doubleheader features post-game fireworks.
Tickets from Thursday's game can be exchanged for an equivalent ticket for any 2012 Knights game (excluding July 4th). Tickets can be exchanged at the Knights Ticket Office.
The Knights will hand the ball to RHP Charlie Shirek on Friday. Shirek was the scheduled Opening Day starter for the Knights and will make his Triple-A debut on Friday. Shirek, 26, was originally selected by the White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2007 draft.
On the hill for the Tides on Friday will be RHP Brad Bergesen. Bergesen, a native of Concord, MA, posted a 2-1 mark with a 1.64 ERA in three games for the Tides last season.
Friday's game is set for 7:15 p.m. and the first 1,000 kids (12 and under) will receive an Autograph Book, thanks to Kellogg's.
