Battle Creek Knights News Release
Battle Creek, Michigan-Listed below are former Battle Creek Knights professional basketball players from the 2005 IBL Championship team who are currently seeing playing time in the U.S., Portugal, France, and Chile. Mike Williams, forward, Western Michigan University, with the 6-6, Le Havre, in the France Professional A League. Mike is averaging 8.8 points per game.
Ben Reed, guard, Western Michigan University, with the 1st place, 6-2, Ovarense Aerosoles Ovar, in the TMN League in Portugal. Ben is averaging 13.1 points per game.
Jamel Gooding, forward, Knoxville, with the Michigan Mayhem, of the Continental Basketball League, Muskegon Michigan. Jamel is 5th in team minutes played and 3rd in team rebounding for the Mayhem.
Bobby Madison, forward, Western Michigan University, with the 10-12 Deportes Castro in Chile. Bobby finished his season in Chile's Demayor League third in scoring with a 28.1 points per game average and first overall in rebounds averaging 14.3 per game. The Battle Creek Knights have a 2006 regular season road game schedule change. The Knights are schedule to play the West Virginia Wild, in Charleston, WV, instead of Akron, Ohio on Saturday, May 20th. Game time is 7:15 p.m. Eastern Time.
Knights team mascot, (Sir Jam A Lot) was in attendance and participated in the 2005 versions of the Battle Creek and Marshall, Michigan, holiday parades, this past month.
