Battle Creek Knights News Release
The Battle Creek Knights professional basketball team is at home for one game, Thursday, June 16th vs. Akron, and on the road for one game, Saturday, June 18th, at Macomb. The Battle Creek Knights are 16-0 entering the eleventh week of the International Basketball League schedule. The Knights current scoring leader is Mike Williams (WMU). Other Battle Creek Knights players averaging in double digit scoring presently is Jamal Gooding (Knoxville), Bobby Madison (WMU), Milo Stovall (Valpairso University), Ben Reed (WMU) and Kenyon Murray (Iowa).
The Knights are home at Kellogg Arena on Thursday night vs. the Akron Lightning. The Akron Lightning are led in scoring by Jason Edwin with a 21.8 points per game average and Kevin Kovach with a 20.2 points per game average. Currently, Akron is 2-10. $1 from each ticket sold to this contest will be donated to the Detective LaVern Brann Memorial Fund.
The Knights last regular season road game is Saturday night, June 18th, at Macomb, vs. the Macomb County Mustangs, tip off time 7 p.m. The Mustangs are led in scoring by Justin Hall with a 23.9 points per game average and Frank Gojacj with a 21.6 points per game average. Currently, Macomb County is 2-14.
The Knights players are going to be out in the Southwest Michigan area this week at Creekside Community House, Friday, June 17th, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., speaking to and signing autographs for a Battle Creek Community Drug Free Kids Club program.
Tickets are available for the game on Thursday, June 16th vs. Akron, tip off time 7:30 p.m., by calling the Kellogg Arena box office, across from Full Blast, at 269-965-3308, or the Knights team offices, in McCamly Place, at 269-965-5001. At Thursday's night contest vs. Akron, hot dogs will be 50 cents each and selected draft beers for only $1.00.
