Knights Announce 2019-2020 Schedule

July 8, 2019 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights News Release

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, proud member of the North American Hockey League, have announced 56 dates for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.

September will begin the fifth season of Knights' hockey in the NAHL, starting with Wilkes-Barre's home opener against the Johnstown Tomahawks on Friday, September 13th. Overall, the Knights, along with all 25 other teams in the NAHL will play a 60 game regular season. Four games have yet to be announced as they will take place in Blaine, MN. during the annual NAHL Showcase Series. The United States' only Tier II junior hockey league will welcome two new expansion teams to the fold this season in both the New Mexico Ice Wolves and the Maine Nordiques.

For Wilkes-Barre, they will get to see the latter of the two new teams quite often. The Nordiques will play in the East Division, which has now expanded to seven teams. This marks the second consecutive season the east has brought in a new team, with the Maryland Black Bears entering the fray last year.

The grey and blue meet with the Nordiques, New Jersey Titans, Northeast Generals, and Johnstown Tomahawks eight times each. The Knights will see Maryland and the Jamestown Rebels a dozen times respectively. 28 of the 56 games against fellow east competition will be played at the home of the Knights, Revolution Ice Centre.

Traditionally, the Knights will see the bulk of their home games played out during the front half of the schedule. Once the calendar flips to 2020, the club will be home for just 10 of their 29 remaining games. A season-long five game homestand takes place from October 11-19th, while the Knights will host a four game homestand in both September and November. Click here to see the full schedule.
