Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks will hold a jersey auction to benefit Continuing Developmental Services on Saturday, January 28th, as the K-Hawks battle the North Division rival Buffalo Bandits at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The jerseys were produced locally by jerseyconnection.com.
The silent auction will take place in the upper atrium bar area. The purple game-worn jerseys will be autographed by the individual player. That evening, the K-Hawks will also honor Tim Soudan, who retired in the offseason. A special No. 33 Tim Soudan jersey will also be among the jerseys in the auction to commemorate "Tim Soudan Night."
The proceeds from a second Soudan jersey will benefit the Casey Zaph Fund. The team will also auction off a No. 27 Casey Zaph jersey to raise money to assist the Zaph family with medical and related family expenses.
Zaph played defense for the Rochester Knighthawks from 1999-2005. The 30-year-old husband and father of two is recovering from bleeding on the brain. Zaph was hospitalized on June 7th when he collapsed at his doctor's office after experiencing headaches. He is currently recovering at home with his family and beginning the long road back to recovery.
CDS is a non-profit organization (since 1977) that supports about 1,200 individuals in the community with developmental disabilities through four core businesses: residential, employment, creative opportunities and family supports.
This weekend, Rochester (0-1) plays its home opener on Saturday, January 14th against the National Lacrosse League defending champion Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The first 10,000 fans will receive a magnet schedule from ESL Federal Credit Union. Fans arriving early can also take home a Knighthawks T-shirt while supplies last. The game will be webcast on the B2 Networks and televised tape delayed at 10:00 p.m. on WB16.
