(Rochester, May 10)... Rochester Knighthawks Cody Jamieson has been named to the National Lacrosse League's All-Rookie Team. Jamieson was selected No. 1 overall in the draft and lived up to his advanced billing.

The Six Nations and Syracuse star led all NLL rookies with 53 points and was six times named the Rookie of the Week. In April, he was also honored as the Rookie of the Month. He also received team Rookie of the Year honors as he finished first on the Knighthawks with 28 goals and third in points. Jamieson was also selected to represent the Eastern Division in the 2011 All Star Game.

"It is definitely an honor," said Jamieson. "Individual awards are always a bonus. To be in there with those guys the future looks bright for the league."

"Jammer" becomes the fourth Rochester player to appear on the All-Rookie team, beginning with Chris Schiller in 2003. Scott Evans (2004) and Shawn Evans (2005) made it three straight seasons with a Rochester rookie on the team.

The Knighthawks have had a banner offseason with Curt Styres (NLL General Manager of the Year and NLL Executive of the Year), Mike Hasen (Head Coach of the Year), Jordan Hall (Sportsmanship Award), Pat McCready (Defensive Player of the Year) and Matt Vinc (Goaltender of the Year) all receiving NLL hardware. The awards are voted on by team executives, general managers and head coaches of the league's 10 member clubs.
