Knighthawks' Hall Is Ready to Play
February 5, 2011 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks Owner and General Manager Curt Styres announced that transition man Jordan Hall has agreed to a two-year contract extension. Hall was granted medical clearance Thursday and will make his Knighthawks debut today against the Philadelphia Wings.
"I am so excited to start playing again," said Hall, who underwent successful surgery on December 8th to repair a sports hernia. "Nothing is worse than having to watch the games."
Hall, 25, was selected by Rochester with the third overall pick in the NLL Dispersal Draft of Orlando Titans players. Last season, he was named a Second Team All-Pro and led all transition players in assists with 58, finishing fourth overall in the league in the category. His 74 points were tied for the 16th most in the league.
"I think the reason Curt brought me in here was because he wanted the team to get younger and faster," said Hall. "I add speed and also have been working on my off-ball game the past couple of years."
In his career, the former first-overall pick has averaged nearly five points per game with 224 (65+159) in 47 games. Hall was named to the NLL All-Rookie Team in 2008. He has also represented his country, playing for Team Canada at the World Lacrosse Championships, winning gold in 2006 and silver in 2010. The Surrey, BC, native was named to Team Canada for the 2011 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.
The Rochester Knighthawks will host the Philadelphia Wings in a 2:05 p.m. game this afternoon at The Blue Cross Arena. The game will be broadcast live on The Zone 94.1 FM and www.thezone941.com. For tickets call (585) 454-5335 or go online to knighthawks.net. The first 5,000 fans will receive Silly Bandz, courtesy of Time Warner Cable.
