The Rochester Knighthawks' National Lacrosse League game on Saturday, March 31st will air coast-to-coast on Altitude Sports & Entertainment, which is available on Directv and the Dish Network. The Knighthawks host the Colorado Mammoth at 1:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans attending the game in Rochester will receive a Knighthawks flashlight key chain. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office.
The K-Hawks meet the West Division leading Colorado Mammoth (9-3) for the second time this season.The Knighthawks (5-6) enter the weekend in a tie for second place in the East Division with the Toronto Rock. Rochester has won three of its last four home games with its lone blemish coming last weekend against the Rock. Last Saturday, Cody Jamieson led the offense with four points to reach the 60-point plateau. He leads the team in goals and points and ranks sixth in both league categories. He now has 22 points (9+13) in his last four games. Knighthawks Head Coach Mike Hasen said the team is ready to go.
"We are going to be 10 times better. We're really focused," he said. "We are getting back to basics, especially on defense."
The game marks the first time John Grant Jr. will play against his former team at The Blue Cross Arena. Grant, who leads the NLL in goals and points, played in Rochester from 2000-10, and won regular season and playoff MVP honors in 2007 as Rochester captured the Champion's Cup. He owns the team records for goals (433) and points (894).Last weekend, Grant returned to the Mammoth's lineup and earned NLL Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season. Grant was dealt to Colorado in a trade that brought Matt Vinc to Rochester in 2010. Vinc was the NLL 2011 Goaltender of the Year and a First Team All-Pro. Over the past two seasons, "Vno" has made the most saves in the NLL with 1,004.
"I am thinking about it more than any other game," said Grant. "It has some personal importance to me because I played most of my career there. I am focusing on helping our team win."
