Knighthawks can clinch playoff berth this weekend

The Western Division leading Colorado Mammoth (10-1) have clinched a playoff berth, becoming the first team to do so. Clinching after just their eleventh game, the Mammoth set a record for the fastest team to clinch a playoff berth since the league switched to the current 16 game format. Colorado plays at Buffalo on Saturday night.

The Eastern Division leading Rochester Knighthawks (9-2) can clinch a playoff berth this weekend with a win over New York on Saturday, or they can clinch a playoff berth with both a Toronto loss to Minnesota and one Chicago loss this weekend.

The upcoming weekend (March 23-25) is the first of the four remaining weekends of the regular season, which concludes on April 14th. The 2007 Champion's Cup Playoffs begin on the weekend April 20-22.

National Lacrosse League Playoff Format The top four teams in each the Eastern Division and the Western Division earn playoff berths.

The regular season division champion faces the regular season fourth place finisher from their respective division in the Divisional Semifinals. The regular season second place finisher faces the regular season third place finisher from their respective division in the Divisional Semifinals. Each game is hosted by the higher seeded team.

In the Divisional Finals, the winner of the First vs. Fourth place Divisional Semifinal game faces the winner of the Second vs. Third place Divisional Semifinal game in each respective division. Each game is hosted by the higher seeded team.

The Divisional Final winners shall meet in the 2007 NLL Championship Game (East vs. West) with the higher overall seed hosting the game.
