Knighthawks Acquire Forward Jamie Rooney From New York

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Regy Thorpe announced today that the team acquired forward Jamie Rooney from the New York Titans in exchange for defenseman/transition man Bill Greer. The National Lacrosse League trade deadline was at 3:00 p.m. today.
Rooney is in his second season in the National Lacrosse League. This season in New York, he registered seven goals, seven assists and 30 loose balls. In his career, he has 27 goals, 30 assists and 89 loose balls in 25 games.
The Arthur, Ontario, native was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Wings in the second round (22nd overall) from the Arizona Sting in the 2007 Dispersal Draft. Rooney played for the Philadelphia Wings in 2008 and accumulated 20 goals, 23 assists and 59 loose balls. The 24 year old was acquired by the New York Titans in the 2009 Dispersal Draft.
Greer heads to New York after spending 41 games with the Knighthawks from 2006 to 2009. He had 17 goals and 19 assists with Rochester and was a member of the 2007 championship team. This season, he recorded two assists and 55 loose balls in eight games. He began his pro career in 2001-02 with the now defunct Columbus Landsharks.
This weekend, Rochester visits the Toronto Rock on Saturday, March 21st at 7:30 p.m. at Air Canada Centre. The contest is the 200th regular-season game in Rochester history.
