Normal CornBelters News Release
NORMAL, Illinois - The CornBelters have added pitcher Jensen Kirch to their 2018 Frontier League roster.
The Indianapolis, Indiana native joins the CornBelters after completing his collegiate career at Wabash College in Crawfordsville (IN). At Wabash, Kirch held a career 4.06 ERA with a season-best 2.73 in 2016. He also had 13 complete games with two shutouts during his four years.
Kirch struck out a total of 154 batters with 230.1 innings pitched during his career with Wabash, and Manager Billy Horn knows Kirch's college experience will benefit the team. "Jensen is a solid rookie arm who pitched a lot of innings and didn't walk many batters in college. He showed well in the California Winter League and will have an opportunity to make the club in spring training."
The 6-foot-3-inch Kirch was named team captain and received all-conference honors at Wabash while majoring in Financial Economics. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2017.
