
Kinston's Carlos Santana Racks Up Another Big Award

KINSTON - Kinston Indian's catcher Carlos Santana is Minor League Baseball's California League Player of the Year. The 22-year-old Santana hit .323 with 14 home runs and 96 RBIs for Inland Empire (LA Dodgers) in the California League before being traded to the Cleveland Indians Organization in late July. Santana was traded to the Cleveland Indians for Cleveland big leaguer Casey Blake. Santana then hit .352 in 29 games with the K-Tribe.
Santana's trophy case is getting full after his breakout season. His MILB California League Player of the Year Award joins his MILB Advanced A Hitter of the Year Award and the California League's MVP Award. Santana was also a mid-season and post-season all star for the California League.
