Kalamazoo Kings News Release

The Kalamazoo Kings pulled out a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Washington Wild Things Monday night. With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth and Joe Ramos on first, Mike Russell hit a high flyball to right center. Both the centerfielder and leftfielder lost the ball in the lights and dropped twenty feet in front of them. Ramos scooted to third by the time Washington reached the ball, then after a poor throw in back to the infield, Ramos raced home to score the deciding run. Jeff Long pitched eight impressive innings, allowing one run on six hits and only walking two. Dan Baerlocher pitched the ninth inning to pick up the win.
