The Kalamazoo Kings lost their opening round game 8-7 Tuesday night to the Lake Erie Crushers to fall behind 0-1 in the best of five series. The Kings jumped on top 6-2 after two innings, but Lake Erie chipped away to take an 8-7 lead in the top of the ninth by hitting three HR's in the last two innings. Eight of the nine Kings' batters collected a hit with Josh Short and Matt Maloney leading the way with a combined 5 for 10 night with 5 RBI and 2 HR's. Six Crushers had multi-hit nights led by Wayne Bond's 3 for 4 night.
