Kings Lose 8-6
August 16, 2009 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release
After dodging bullets all homestand it finally caught up to the Kings with an 8-6 loss in 14 innings to the Gateway Grizzlies. The Kings were as resiliant as ever, coming back to tie the game three times, including once in the 12th, but couldn't muster a rally once the Grizzlies took the lead in the 14th. Five Kings had multi-hit games led by Josh Short's 3 for 6 day. Amos Ramon pitched five innings of flawless relief, retiring all 15 batters he faced and struck out four. The Kings pitchers had a great series in shutting down Grizzlies' star Charlie Lisk, who finished with a 1 for 15 weekend.
