Kingfish Cruise to Easy 8-1 Victory over Bullfrogs

Green Bay, WI -- The Kingfish defeated the Bullfrogs 8-1 Saturday afternoon to extend their win streak to three straight.

After Green Bay scored first in the third inning, the Kingfish responded with a monstrous two-run home run from Eric Filia (UCLA) to give Kenosha a 2-1 advantage.

Another run scored in the fifth after T.J. Nichting (UNC-Charlotte) doubled and was plated on a ball mishandled at first base by Green Bay's Danny Rosenbaum (Louisville).

Leading 3-1, the Kingfish bats showed late life with three runs in the eighth. Filia continued to hit the ball well as led off with a triple, Jeremy Vasquez (Florida) followed with an RBI single, and Jason Scholl (Eastern Illinois) kept the extra-base hit mojo going with a double, scoring on a sacrifice fly.

Amid the offensive output, Brendon Allen (Eastern Illinois) picked up the victory (3-2/3.46ERA) going 7IP/1R(1ER)/6H/6K-0BB to close out an impressive performance. He only tossed 80 pitches next to 56 strikes.

Eric Filia finished 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Jeremy Vasquez was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. 11 hits were recorded overall for the Kingfish.

Kenosha even chipped in a ninth inning run making it an 8-1 final in favor of the Kingfish who are now 36-18/13-5 on the season.
