Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will face the Allen Americans twice this week leading up to the holiday break. The Bees are currently suffering through a nine-game losing streak.

Tuesday vs Rapid City Rush, L 3-2 Shootout
HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-8-4) fell behind early against the Rapid City Rush (11-9-1) but were able to rally in the third period and escape with a point in a 3-2 shootout loss Tuesday night at State Farm Arena.
Friday at Wichita Thunder, L 1-4
WICHITA. Kan.- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-9-4) fell to the Wichita Thunder (15-7-0) by a 4-1 final on Friday night. David Marshall scored the Bees lone goal in his return to the line-up. Dan Dunn made 23 saves in his first game since November 4th.
Saturday at Wichita Thunder, L 0-3
WICHITA, Kan.- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-10-4) were shutout by the Wichita Thunder (16-7-0) by 3-0 score on Saturday night. The shutout was the first against the Bees this season. John Murray made 24 on 27 shots. All three Wichita goals were scored on odd-man rushes.
Sunday at Allen Americans, L 1-6
ALLEN, Texas- Due to injuries and call-up's to the American Hockey League the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-11-4) skated against the Allen Americans (15-5-4) with only 13 skaters and fell by a 6-1 decision. David Marshall scored the Bees lone goal.
BEES NEED TO KNOW
. David Marshall has scored in six games of his last seven games in a Killer Bees uniform, though the streak is not without interruption. Marshall was called to the AHL from November 12 to December 15. While in San Antonio Marshall scored four goals.
. Forward Aaron Lee signed with the Bees for his fourth season. Lee has previously suited up for 214 games with the Bees and is closing in on the record of 223 held by Bill Newson. Lee is set to tie the record on Jan. 13 against Texas and break it on Jan. 14 also against Texas.
. Mark Kroeze was signed by the Bees on November 5 to serve as an emergency back-up goalie after an injury to Dan Dunn. Kroeze is a Minnesota native who is also is the first-ever McAllen City Urban Forester. Kroeze also serves on the Killer Bees off-ice officials crew.
. The Bees have signed an affiliation agreement for the first time in franchise history as the team is now affiliated with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League and Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.
. The Killer Bees have now won their first game of the season over the Laredo Bucks in the last two seasons. Last year the Bees opened the season with a victory over Laredo and this season the Bees defeated Laredo 6-3 last Saturday night for their first win of the year.
