ROUND ROCK, Texas – Brooks Kieschnick was named the Central Texas Professional Player of the Year and Round Rock High School coach John Langerhans was surprised with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Round Rock Express Winter Banquet Saturday night. The even benefited Round Rock Sertoma, a charity dedicated to helping children overcome hearing disabilities.

Kieschnick made national headlines during the 2003 season when he made the Milwaukee Brewers as a relief pitcher and outfielder. He flourished in both positions, becoming a dependable arm out of the bullpen, while also hitting .300 with seven home runs in only 70 at-bats.
