RICHMOND, VA - (Saturday, April 4, 2015) - The Richmond Kickers are proud to unveil a custom mural at City Stadium when they return for the 2015 home opener this Saturday, April 4. The Kickers partnered with local artist Mickael Broth to transform the stadium's 70 foot by 12 foot brick wall into a one-of-a-kind showpiece for RVA.

Broth's larger than life design depicts the passion, energy and emotion of RVA's hometown professional soccer team while rejuvenating the 86-year old stadium with its own urban art gallery. A featured backdrop for the stadium's boisterous Section O, the mural will also represent elements of the Red Army, the official supporters group of the Richmond Kickers.

Other works by the innovative Richmond artist include high profile locations such as Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers in Carytown, Sticky Rice, the Canal Walk and the former GRTC bus depot at Cary and Robinson Streets. Broth is the founder of Welcoming Walls, a mural project focused on activating the highways and gateways of Richmond.

The Richmond Kickers return to City Stadium this Saturday, April 4 when they host Louisville City FC in the 2015 regular season home opener, presented by Woodfin, at 5:00 p.m. The pre-game party starts at 3:30 p.m. with live music from The Trillions, Family Zone, food trucks, craft beer, including Kick It Hunny, on tap and the first 500 fans through the gate will receive a replica jersey t-shirt.

Fans are encouraged to submit a #soccerselfie in front of the mural via Facebook.com/RichmondKickers, Twitter.com/RichmondKickers and Instragram.com/RichmondKickers for the chance to win an original piece of art by Mickael Broth and a Richmond Kickers 2015 Section O Season Pass.
