Richmond Kickers News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Richmond Kickers (4-2-2) fell on the road Saturday afternoon to Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (4-2-3) at CHI Memorial Stadium. Emiliano Terzaghi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but two second half goals from Chattanooga would end the Kickers unbeaten run.
Terzaghi added to his season tally in the 13th minute. Mutaya Mwape brought down a long pass from Akira Fitzgerald inside the center circle. He turned to find Bolduc making a run up the right wing. The veteran midfielder picked out Terzaghi with a cross near the penalty spot, catching the ball on the volley for his seventh goal of the season.
The woodwork came to the rescue for the Kickers in the 22nd minute. Ricardo Zacarias chipped the ball through for Ronaldo Pineda getting in behind the Kickers backline. Fitzgerald came out to shut down the angle as Pineda looked to put a shot on frame. His shot hit off the back post and was cleared out by Kraft.
Chattanooga leveled the score in the 54th minute. Coming into the match as a substitute, Mark Hernandez had a run up the left side. As he reached the Richmond box, he slipped the ball through for Tanner Dieterich. He was able to get around Ivan Magalhães for a shot that found the back of the net for the tying goal.
Steven Beattie scored the go-ahead goal late for the Red Wolves. Pineda quickly took a throw in for Hernandez. Dancing along the endline, Hernandez played the ball back for Beattie. His one-time effort was enough to get the goal and give the home side the victory late.
The Kickers return back home to City Stadium next Saturday night, September 19 as they host Orlando City B. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. and the match will air live on WTVR CBS 6.3 and streaming on ESPN+. A limited number of tickets are still available at RichmondKickers.com/Tickets.
