
Keys complete comeback, beat Warthogs 5-4

FREDERICK, MD -- Bryan Bass stole third base and scored on a throwing error by Donny Lucy in the bottom of the eighth inning to help the Keys complete a comeback over the Winston-Salem Warthogs, to win 5-4 on Tuesday night.
Travis Brown, Paco Figueroa and Dustin Yount each had two hits for a Keys team that scored two opportunistic runs on wild pitches and the eventual game-winner on a throwing-error.
The Warthogs jumped on the board in the top of the first inning as Chris Kelly hit a three-run home run to left field off starter David Haehnel to take a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third the Keys got on the board as Paco Figueroa lined a base hit to right field to drive in Travis Brown, bringing the Keys within two runs.
Garrett Guest put the Warthogs back in front by three with an RBI single that drove in Rod Allen Jr. in the top of the fourth.
In the bottom half of the inning the Keys scored two runs, both on wild pitches from Adam Russell to close the gap to one run. Bryan Bass scored his first run of the game in the sixth inning when Bobby Andrews grounded into a double play. Bass then scored the game-winner in the eighth after stealing third and scoring on the error.
Beau Hale earned the win tossing a perfect inning of relief. Casey Cahill earned his second save, tossing a shutout ninth inning.
Fernando Hernandez took the loss, allowing a run, unearned on two hits in 1.2 innings.
The Keys and Warthogs will play game three of their four game set on Wednesday at 7 PM. RHP Radhames Liz will take the mound for the Keys. Wednesday is also Cheap Beer Night at the Stadium, as fans over 21 can enjoy $1.50 domestic draughts.
