New York Dragons News Release

The New York Dragons announced today that OS Kevin Swayne has been placed on Injured Reserve after dislocating his shoulder in the first quarter of the team's 61-54 victory in Philadelphia on Sunday. Mike Horacek will move over from WR/LB to OS while Chris Anthony assumes the starting duties at WR/LB.

"We hope for the best and prepare for the worst. That's why we assembled the talent we have on our roster," said Dragons head coach Weylan Harding. "Kevin Swayne's play will be missed because of everything he brings to the table. But with that said, I don't anticipate a drop off with Mike Horacek playing at offensive specialist."

After missing the Dragons' first two games of this season with a hamstring injury, Swayne totaled eight touchdowns -- five in a victory over Nashville in Week Four -- in his first two games of 2005. In his career, Swayne has recorded 332 receptions for 4,957 yards and 103 touchdowns.

Horacek played OS from 2000 until this season when he moved over to WR/LB after signing with the Dragons. This season Horacek has recorded 27 receptions for 375 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In other news, the team has released WR/DB Lamont Webb and signed QB Ronnie Gordon from the practice squad.

The Dragons return to the Nassau Coliseum to take on the Georgia Force this Saturday, March 12. Kickoff is at 7 PM. For ticket information, call 1-866-AFL-TIXX.
