Kerr Milestone Chase Continues

April 8, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Flint Generals News Release

FLINT, MI - Right wing Kevin Kerr, a 17-year veteran, continues his quest to become the career leader for most goals scored by a professional (excluding the N.H.L). Kerr has 661 career goals after scoring twice in league action this week.

The current record holder is former IHL-er, left wing Scott Gruhl with 663 career goals. Gruhl, as many may remember, played for the Saginaw Gears and the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League. A couple of teams that many in the Flint and Mid-Michigan remember all too well.

Kerr, the all-time leading scorer in modern Flint Generals history, has registered 21 goals this season and has 661 career goals to date. The feisty right winger from North Bay, Ontario is only two goals from tying the record and three goals from establishing the new record for most career goals (excluding the N.H.L.).

Kerr has recorded 347 of those goals while a member of the Flint Generals in three different tours of duty (1993-98, 2000-2001, 2003-present). Kerr will have two games in an attempt to reach this historic milestone as the Generals host the Richmond River Dogs on Friday, April 9, 2004 and Adirondack Icehawks on Saturday, April 10, 2004. Both games will played at Perani's Hockey World Arena & Event Center at 7:35 p.m.

Tickets for these two games are on sale at any TicketMaster location. Ticket prices are $12.00, $10.00 & $8.00. Student tickets are discounted $2.00 off regular price. Children's tickets, ages 2-12 are $6.00. For ticket purchases, call (810) 744-0580. For more details, contact the Flint Generals at (810) 742-9422.
