
Kernels raise $1635 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters

The Kernels Front Office Staff helped by making a big âstrike' as they raised $1,635 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern Iowa through âBowling for Kids Sake'. The event was held at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center on Wednesday, February 22nd, as the Kernels Keglers were part of several teams from local businesses that participated.
The Kernels have been a long-time supporter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters in eastern Iowa and Big Brothers/Big Sisters is a national charity partner of Minor League Baseball.
The Kernels open the 2006 season at Beloit on April 6th. The .rst home game is on April 10th at noon. Individual game tickets go on sale March 13th at the Kernels Ticket Of.ce or on-line at www.kernels.com. The .rst 1,000 fans through the gates on Opening Day receive a free Stadium Model, courtesy of Collins Community Credit Union.
