Kernels Announce 2018 Promotional Schedule

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels are excited to announce their 2018 Promotional Schedule!

The Kernels home season begins on Saturday, April 7th as the Kernels take on Quad Cities at 5:05 PM. All fans will receive a FREE 2018 Kernels magnet schedule, courtesy of Wells Fargo, but that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Daily Specials: The popular Kernels Daily Specials that Kernels fans have come to know and love return this year and add to the overall excitement at Perfect Game Field!

Sunday: Kids Eat Free, presented by Western Fraternal Life; Run the Bases, presented by Prairie Farms & 104.5 KDAT; Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo; Papa Balloon & Face Painting by Kennedy

Monday: Mark Down Monday

Tuesday: Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips

Thursday: Flat Screen Thursday, presented by First Federal Credit Union; Thirsty Thursday, presented by 94.1 KRNA; and College Night.

Friday: Kernels Friday Mug Club, presented by Stadium Bar & Grill, Shuey's, Red's Public House, Mulligan's Pub & Grill and Z 102.9.

Fireworks will follow Saturday home games starting Saturday, May 5th. Post-Game Fireworks are sponsored by Procter & Gamble on May 5th; Bank of the West on July 14th and Special Olympics on August 25th. Non-Saturday fireworks nights include Thursday, May 17th; Thursday, May 31st; Thursday, June 7th; Wednesday, July 4th; Friday, August 17th; and Friday, August 31st.

Theme Nights: Theme nights at Perfect Game Field immerse fans in the show with sights and sounds connected to the particular theme night. Many fan-favorites return, along with some new additions:

May 5: Kentucky Derby Night

May 17: Guns & Hoses Night

June 7: Daddy/Daughter Princess Date Night

Gate Giveaways & Jersey Nights: Everyone loves to get something when they come to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium, and the Kernels have many Gate Giveaway Nights scheduled throughout the season. There are too many to list here, but some include:

2018 season ticket packages, Fab 5 ticket packages and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium, or by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 19th at 10 AM.

The 2018 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Monday, April 2nd and your first chance to meet the new team is on Tuesday, April 3rd as part of "Meet the Kernels Night'. The Kernels open the 2018 MWL season on the road at Quad Cities on Thursday, April 5th. The 2018 home season opens on Saturday, April 7th when the Kernels host Quad Cities at 5:05 PM.
